Generation after generation, 80 years of waffles and tradition.
1952
François Doyen, a pastry chef from the Belgian coast, creates a Liège waffle recipe that can be enjoyed all year round. He settles in Brussels and starts selling 150 to 200 waffles in grocery stores, schools, and more. The PEGI brand is born!
His daughter-in-law Odette takes over the reins of the business. Through hard work and dedication, they acquire their first automatic oven and significantly boost production.
1979
1985
Pegi innovates by developing packaging that allows for the storage and freezing of waffle dough. Thanks to this breakthrough, PEGI becomes the first waffle manufacturer to export its dough balls.
Their daughters, Carine and Nathalie, take over and expand production by moving into brand-new facilities ready to support further growth.
2011
2017
Faced with ever-increasing demand and a desire to modernize, the company installs a new production line, enabling it to produce nearly 30 million waffles per year.
Today
Pegi continues to grow while preserving its artisanal spirit and the original recipes that built its reputation.
